PARIO CAPITAL

Guy Piazza is a co-founder and Managing Director of Pario Capital.  He is a power finance investment banker that has originated, structured, negotiated and closed numerous power plant and energy project financings in the past 25 years.  Most recently Pario has principally managed a wind development company, and sourced capital for a renewable diesel refinery on the Gulf Coast.

 

Mr. Piazza has financed many energy asset types, including  raising equity for energy technology and clean tech waste companies as well as most forms of renewable, including geothermal, wind, solar and wood pellets.

 

Throughout his career, he has worked in all aspects of finance: acquisition, advisory, development, private equity, preferred equity, public and private debt, senior and subordinated debt, structured finance, restructuring, leveraged lease equity and debt, and tax subsidized finance.  His experience includes  coal, gasification, nuclear, natural gas, geothermal, demand side management, Smartgrid, transmission, bio mass, waste to energy and hydro as well as energy assets for gas storage, district heating and cooling plants.  He also has experience in financial restructuring for electric utilities.

 

Mr. Piazza's experience includes 10 years at CIT (Newcourt and Tyco Capital) and prior to that doing utility, project and lease finance at Chase/Chemical and Merrill Lynch Investment Banking.  Earlier posts were at Connell Finance and Hovbilt Inc. (Hovnanian Homes).  His career began in 1980 at AG Becker in commercial paper, later acquired by Merrill Lynch.  Mr. Piazza has spoken often on energy issues and has been an advisor to a cable TV investments market commentator.

 

Mr. Piazza has a BS in Economics from Cook College of Rutgers  University, and an MBA from Rutgers Graduate School of Management.
